AWS Backup Service to configure RDS snapshot every 4 Hours

Backup Configuring Steps:
· AWS Management console – AWS Backup Service Dashboard
· Create Backup Plan

· Below are the parameters to be enabled for creating backup plan
Build a new plan
Backup Plan Name: RDSSnapshot
Rule Name: rds
Schedule:
Frequency: Custom cron Schedue
Backup window: Use backup window defaultsrecommended
Remaining can be left default
Optional settings
If snapshot needs to be copied to other region Destination region to be specified.
Tags can be added for backup plan as well.
· Once the Backup Plan is created , resources has to be assigned which has to be covered under the Backup Plan and rule we have created
· Under the Backup Plan – Navigate to Resource Assignment section to assign resources

Resources can be assigned using tags or Resource ID.
Supported resources under Backup are
- EBS
- EC2
- RDS
- DynamoDB
- EFS
- Storage Gateway
This will take care of the snapshot as configured.
